# Machines Are Learning, But Is Humanity Forgetting?

**मनुष्य का इतिहास केवल नए आविष्कारों का इतिहास नहीं है, बल्कि उन परिवर्तनों का भी इतिहास है जो उन आविष्कारों ने मनुष्य के भीतर उत्पन्न किए। हर नई तकनीक ने हमें कुछ दिया है, लेकिन हर तकनीक के साथ यह प्रश्न भी जुड़ा रहा है कि हमने बदले में क्या खोया।**

*Human history is not merely the history of inventions; it is also the history of the changes those inventions created within human beings. Every new technology has given us something valuable, but every technological advancement also raises an important question: what have we lost in return?*

They not only memorized multiplication tables from 1 to 20, but also knew the values of fractions such as 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75. They were familiar with numerous mathematical shortcuts that allowed them to break complex problems into smaller steps and solve them efficiently.*

**फिर कैलकुलेटर आया। उसने हमारी गति बढ़ा दी। गणना आसान हो गई। त्रुटियाँ कम हो गईं। यह प्रगति थी और इसका स्वागत होना चाहिए था। समस्या कैलकुलेटर के आने से नहीं हुई, समस्या तब शुरू हुई जब हमने सोचना छोड़ दिया और निर्भर होना शुरू कर दिया।**

*Then calculators arrived. They increased our speed. Calculations became easier. Errors were reduced. This was progress, and it deserved to be welcomed. The problem did not begin when calculators arrived; it began when we stopped thinking and started depending on them.*

**कंप्यूटर आए। कागज़ी कार्य कम हुआ। इंटरनेट आया। दुनिया जुड़ गई। ईमेल ने संचार को सरल बना दिया। डेटा सेकंडों में एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक पहुँचने लगा। इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि इन तकनीकों ने मानव जीवन को बेहतर बनाया है।**

*Computers arrived. Paperwork decreased. The internet connected the world. Email simplified communication. Data began moving from one place to another within seconds. There is no doubt that these technologies have improved human life in countless ways.*

*Today we do not try to remember facts because we know Google will tell us. We do not think deeply about a subject because we can watch a few minutes of video and jump to a conclusion. Instead of reading books, we consume short clips and begin to believe that we have educated ourselves.*

*Social media has made this problem even worse. Hours of our day disappear while endlessly scrolling through screens without any real purpose. Reading has declined. Writing has declined. Reflection has declined. Analysis has declined. We are surrounded by an ocean of information, yet we still feel a shortage of wisdom.*

*Throughout history, humanity has often valued power more than wisdom. We created weapons capable of destroying entire civilizations. We have taken from nature far more than we have returned. Even today, the competition revolves around who can build the most powerful technology.*
